  1. Their Miles Davis CD is a bit surprising, for it leaves out his most famous blues performance ("Walkin'") and has the second (rather than the classic first) take of "Bags' Groove" from a session with pianist Thelonious Monk and vibraphonist Milt Jackson.
  2. Three giants of jazz — Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, and Art Blakey — play together on Dig, a classic recorded in (The other musicians, pianist Walter Bishop, alto saxophonist Jackie McLean, and bassist Tommy Potter, are no slouches either.).
  3. Sitting in between cool and hard bop, these recordings (some of Miles's first as a leader) feature a very young Sonny Rollins, Jackie McLean and Walter Bishop, Jr. This CD expands the original LP by two tracks: Dig; It's Only a Paper Moon; Denial; Bluing; Out of the Blue; My Old Flame, and Conception!/5(14).
  4. "Bluing" is a first rate compilation of Miles Davis pieces recorded from under the Prestige label, a few years before Miles transition away from Hard Bop sound. The album was one of my first Jazz purchases six years ago and though I own several Miles Davis albums, this is the one I find myself returning to most often.5/5(2).
  5. Miles Davis / Sonny Rollins - Complete Studio Recordings music CD album at CD Universe, 24 bit digitally remastered, Impeccable sound, Complete edition, Collector's.
